Frequently Asked Questions

Uniform

What do I need to purchase to attend classes

For Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – You will need a BJJ uniform (usually referred to as a gi), a rashguard and a gum-shield. We can supply you with the gi and rashguard, unless you already have your own and they are in good condition. You can purchase a gum-shield at most good sports equipment retailers.
For Kickboxing / Muay Thai – you will need boxing gloves and hand wraps. A gum shield is also highly recommended. Specifics of the type of boxing gloves and hand wraps will be provided before you start. These items are widely available.

Can I wear a uniform from another club

For Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – If the gi has the previous clubs name and/or logo on it, we will allow you to wear it for your first lesson only, whilst you get a new/replacement uniform.

For Kickboxing / Muay Thai – it is recommended you should dress in t/shirt and joggers. Dress comfortably and as long as your bottoms are full length.

For Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – Yes, you will be required to have a club patch sewn onto the back of your gi kimono. The patches can be provided by the instructor.

For Kickboxing / Muay Thai – Not applicable
